Balboa Park, Little Italy, and Bonfires at the beach

Yesterday was a full and exciting day with a visit to the historic Balboa Park and Little Italy in Downtown, San Diego. At Balboa Park, the students enjoyed the botanical gardens and visiting museums like the San Diego Air and Space Museum and the Hall of Champions Sports Museum. A beautiful, preserved area with 39 museums, gorgeous Spanish style architecture, and lots of history, this was a great stop to round out our time in San Diego.

The next stop was Little Italy in Downtown San Diego. Although San Diego's Little Italy can't compare to the real thing, the students enjoyed walking the streets and seeing things that Italian Americans do in San Diego.

Finally, after the host family kids went to meet their families, the university went down to the beach where the had a bonfire full of smores and fun! Smores are and American treat that includes graham crackers, chocolate and a toasted marshmallow...YUM!
